Heads Welcome
Dear Parents
I would like to welcome you to Oaksey Church of England Primary School. I am very proud to be Headteacher of this small village school where the children are the heart of all learning. All the adults in the school work closely together, making the school a special place to learn and creating a warm, friendly and family feel as soon as you walk through the door.
Each child is treated as an individual, allowing room for their particular talents and skills to flourish, as well as encouraging confidence and success in areas they find tricky to accomplish. Successes are celebrated weekly as we learn new skills and meet new ideas of thinking.
Over the last four years we have grown in pupil numbers in the school and in September 2009 we extended our playground area to allow more space for the children to play in on wet days.. The building of our new hall and entrance area in 2004, our extension for Year 1 and 2 and the new dedicated Reception Class, coupled with a good OFSTED Inspection in December 2008 and ICT Inspection in January 2010 has provided us with an excellent learning environment and opportunities to take the school forward during the next few years.
We are delighted that our approach to teaching children as individuals has led to recognition in achieving The Challenge Award in May 2009, for developing all children's talents.
We have close links with our local church, All Saints Church, which is a very visual presence from our hall window. We link with our local Youth Club which meets weekly in their special room on site and also with the village for many activities.
I hope you find this website useful and that it gives you a feel for the school, the children and the adults who treat each day as a new learning opportunity.
Please do not hesitate to contact us if you would like to ask any questions – we look forward to hearing from you.
