Head's Welcome

Dear Parents,

I would like to welcome you to Oaksey Church of England Primary School. I am very proud to be Headteacher of this small village school, where our children are at the heart of learning and the school is at the centre of our rural community. The size and nature of the school help to foster an environment where all staff work closely together, ensuring a unique place to learn. We pride ourselves on creating a warm and supportive environment in which all have opportunities to flourish.

Each child is treated as an individual, allowing room for their particular talents and skills to develop, as well as encouraging confidence and success in tackling areas they may find more difficult. This is underpinned by our school vision of 'As individuals we let our light shine, but we shine brighter together.' Successes are celebrated weekly as we learn new skills and meet alternative ideas of thinking.

Pupil numbers are approximately 88 children in the school, split between 4 classes. Our latest OFSTED inspection in September 2023 was ‘Good’ and they remarked particularly on the inclusivity and the purposeful buzz of learning around the school.

We work with a local school's cluster, the Hobbes Alliance group; where staff work together to expand the opportunities of learning for our children. This includes monitoring data, sharing resources, as well as joint training and CPD opportunities.

Our local church, All Saints, has very visual presence from our hall window and we have close links with the vicar and community there.

I hope you find this website useful and that it gives you a window into our school and the children and adults here who treat each day as a new learning opportunity.

Please do not hesitate to contact us if you would like to ask any questions, or if you are interested in your child attending our school.
