Religious Education

Intent

Religious Education is an intrinsic part of our school vision at Oaksey Primary School. It is our intention that RE sessions will fundamentally help to develop our pupil’s knowledge and understanding of both the beliefs and practices of Christians, people of other principal world religions and non-religious world views. Our curriculum will enable pupils to explain how beliefs and practices can inform and change the way a person sees the world, the way they live and the way they treat others. Our pupils will gain an understanding of differences held between a religious and non-religious worldview and understand the similarities of beliefs and practices held in common by people within and across traditions. Our investigative curriculum will equip pupils to be sensitive to others’ beliefs, able to express their own views well, show curiosity and have the skills to ask appropriate questions when meeting people different to themselves.
